I've been asked a lot how I make my own baby wipes so I thought I would go ahead and share with everyone :)
First you need to gather up your supplies:
A roll of paper towels (I use Bounty as I've found generic brands tend to fall apart easily)
3 cups Water
2 T baby wash
1 tsp baby lotion or baby oil
I have empty wipes cases that I use when I'm finished but I know others that use a plastic bag.
Step one is cutting your paper towel roll in half.
As you can see this step can be a bit messy... but MUCH less so with Bounty! (No I'm not paid to say it)
At this point there are two different methods you can use. I've done both. Decide for yourself which is best for you.
You can fold the wipes off the roll OR just remove the roll.
Now you need a pot to boil the water. I've experimented with the amount of water and 3cups will leave a lot of liquid at the bottom of your containers. I've been using 2 1/2 cups instead.
Add your 3 ingredients and bring to a boil.
It doesn't matter what type/brand of baby wash or lotion/oil. I was given a TON of Johnson's. My son is 7months old and I still have not bought any!
Once it is boiling, remove from heat and add your paper towels.
top - folded towels
bottom - normal roll
Once the liquid is absorbed through to the middle of the roll, flip it over. I use tongs for this as they are VERY hot!
Once it is fully absorbed you can move it straight to the container.
top - folded wipes
bottom - normal roll
Done! Quick and easy :) I also fold some of my wipes to fit in the to-go wipes box :)
I hope this helps!!!
